Compressor Replacement
1996 Chevrolet Lumina APV V6-3.4L VIN ESECTION Compressor Replacement
Compressor Mounting:
Sealing Washer:
Remove or Disconnect
1. Recover refrigerant.
2. Serpentine belt.
3. Engine torque strut.
4. Compressor electrical connector.
5. Compressor condenser hose assembly at compressor.
6. One lower mounting bolt.
7. Two upper mounting bolts.
8. Compressor.
Install or Connect
Important
^ Lightly coat seals with mineral base 525 viscosity refrigerant oil.
1. Compressor.
2. Two upper mounting bolts.
Tighten
^ Bolts to 50 N.m (37 lb. ft.).
3. One lower mounting bolt.
Tighten
^ Bolt(s) to 50 N.m (37 lb. ft.).
4. Compressor condenser hose assembly to compressor using new sealing washers.
Tighten
^ Nut to 33 N.m (24 lb. ft.).
5. Electrical connector to compressor.
6. Engine mount strut bracket.
7. Serpentine belt.
8. Evacuate charge and leak check system.
