There are three modules which can be accessed with a Tech 1 Scan Tool through the Data Link Connector. The 800 CKT provides a path that allows the Scan Tool to "talk" with the Powertrain Control Module (PCM), Diagnostic Energy Reserve Module (DERM), and the Electronic Brake Control Module (EBCM). After communication is established, system operations can then be monitored for diagnostic purposes.
