Knock Sensor: Service and Repair

REMOVAL:

- Disconnect battery cable.
- Drain cooling system.
- Disconnect wiring harness connector from knock sensor.
- Remove knock sensor.

INSTALLATION:

- Install knock sensor. Apply water base caulk to sensor threads. Do not use silicon tape as this will insulate sensor from engine. Tighten to 19 Nm (14 lb. ft.).
- Connect wiring harness connector to knock sensor.
- Connect negative battery cable.
- Refill cooling system and pressure test for leaks.
