Throttle Position Sensor: Testing and Inspection

1993 Chevrolet Caprice Wagon RWD V6-262 4.3LSECTION Testing and Inspection

If a new throttle position sensor or throttle body is installed, the EBTCM must "learn" the throttle position sensor idle position voltage with the new component(s) installed. This is necessary to ensure effective engine torque reduction during TCS events. The procedure required TECH 1 or T-100 (CAMS) unit; the following procedure is descried as using a TECH 1 unit.
1. Turn ignition Off, then connect Chassis or Mass Storage Cartridge.
2. Turn ignition On, then follow menus to reach ABS/TCS features.
3. Select F5:TP SENSOR LEARN, then press UP arrow to begin learn procedure.
4. Wait for TECH 1 to indicate COMPLETE, then turn ignition Off and disconnect TECH 1.
