When an owner returns to the dealership with a Remote Keyless Entry (RKE) transmitter concern on 1991-93 models, it is important to follow the procedure below:

Determine if the batteries are operational. Battery life for each transmitter should be 2 years. There have been some cases where RKE transmitters have been replaced when the only problem was a dead battery. Refer to Section 9K in the Service Manual for proper diagnostic procedures and battery replacement information.
