1987 Chevrolet Suburban 3/4 Ton 2WD V8-454 7.4LSECTION Compressor Replacement

C, K, R & V SERIES

1. Disconnect battery ground cable, then discharge system refrigerant.
2. Remove hose connector from compressor and plug open connections.
3. Disconnect harness lead to clutch coil.
4. Loosen brace and pivot hardware, then remove drive belt.
5. Remove compressor mounting bolts, then remove compressor.
6. Reverse procedure to install, using new O-rings coated with clean 525 viscosity refrigerant oil. Compressor should be filled to specification with fresh refrigerant oil prior to installation.
