Cylinder Head Bolt Tightening Sequence:





Coat threads of the cylinder head bolts with sealing compound (GM part number 1052080 or equivalent) and install finger-tight.

Tighten cylinder head bolts, a little at a time, using the sequence shown in image. Proper torque is 90n.m (65 ft. lbs.).

Step 1. 30 n.m (25 ft. lbs.)

Step 2. 60 n.m (45 ft. lbs.)

Step 3. 92 n.m (65 ft. lbs.)
