1. Install shaft key into hub key groove, allowing key to project 3/16 inch from keyway, Fig. 4. The key is slightly curved to provide an interference fit in shaft.
2. With shaft key and keyway aligned, assemble clutch plate and hub on shaft. Clean clutch plate and clutch rotor frictional surfaces before installation. When installing the assembly, do not apply pressure to clutch hub and shaft.

3. Using tool J-9480-B, press hub onto shaft until there is approximately .020 to .040 inch clearance between clutch plate and rotor frictional surfaces, Fig. 5.
4. Install new shaft nut with small diameter boss facing toward crankshaft shoulder, using removal tools. Torque shaft nut to 8-12 ft. lbs. Ensure specified clearance is maintained between clutch plate and rotor.
