1. Disconnect battery cables, then discharge system refrigerant and drain cooling system.
2. Raise vehicle on suitable hoist, then disconnect evaporator lines and heater hoses at core unit, Fig. 1.
3. Remove 3 case retaining bolts, 2 on bottom, 1 above steering rack.
4. With vehicle lowered, remove sound insulators, glove box, steering column trim cover, and lower duct. Remove heater core cover, heater core, evaporator cover and evaporator core.
5. With dash tipped forward, disconnect vacuum lines and temperature control cable.
6. Remove power steering reservoir and two blower case to cowl retaining bolts. Draw module forward, then rotate down and out.
7. To remove defrost, mode or temperature doors, remove door pivot rods.
8. Reverse procedure to install.
