Barometric Pressure Sensor: Description and Operation

1983 Chevrolet Blazer Full Size V8-350 5.7LSECTION Description and Operation

The barometric pressure sensor senses changes in barometric pressure and provides this information, through an electrical signal, to the ECM. The sensor produces a voltage signal of 3.5 - 4 volts to indicate barometric pressure. The voltage increases in proportion to increases in altitude (decreases in barometric pressure). This sensor is normally used with the MAP sensor.
