Distributor Replacement
1982 Chevrolet Cavalier L4-112 1.8LSECTION Distributor Replacement
1. Disconnect battery ground cable.
2. Remove spark plug wires and ignition coil.
3. Disconnect distributor wiring.
4. Remove two nuts Securing distributor body to cylinder head and remove distributor.
5. Reverse procedure to install. Adjust ignition timing to specifications. Torque nuts to 9-15 ft. lbs.
NOTE: No gear is used to drive the distributor. A lug at the distributor base engages a slot on camshaft end.
