1982 Chevrolet Cavalier L4-112 1.8LSECTION Overhead Cam

NON-TURBOCHARGED MODELS
1. Disconnect battery ground cable.
2. Remove air cleaner, then drain cooling system.
3. Remove generator and bracket at camshaft carrier.
4. Disconnect power steering pump and position aside.
5. Remove power steering bracket at intake manifold.
6. Remove ignition coil, then the throttle cable from intake manifold bracket.
7. Remove throttle cable and TV cable from TBI unit.
8. Remove TBI unit electrical connector.
9. Remove vacuum brake hose, coolant hoses and fuel lines.
10. Remove ECM harness, then the intake manifold attaching nuts and manifold.
11. Reverse procedure to install.

TURBOCHARGED MODELS
1. Disconnect battery ground cable.
2. Remove induction tube and hoses.
3. Disconnect ignition coil, throttle body, M.A.P. sensor and wastegate electrical connectors.
4. Remove PCV hose and throttle body vacuum hose.
5. Remove throttle cable and cruise control cable, as required.
6. Remove manifold support bracket, then disconnect fuel injector electrical connectors.
7. Remove rear alternator bracket attaching bolt, then the power steering adjusting bracket.
8. Remove alternator front adjusting bracket, then the fuel lines.
9. Remove intake manifold attaching bolts, then the intake manifold.
10. Reverse procedure to install.
