Functional Check

1982 Chevrolet Camaro L4-151 2.5LSECTION Functional Check
NOTE: A defective vacuum signal or outlet line will cause the valve to malfunction.

1. Check the condition of all lines--especially the vacuum signal line.
2. Disconnect pump to valve inlet hose at pump.
3. Start engine and allow to idle. Position palm of hand over hose;
- Little or no suction with a gradual increase in vacuum is normal.
- If strong suction is felt or air noise is heard, replace valve.
4. Open and close throttle rapidly, while positioning palm of hand over hose.
- Air noise and strong suction should be evident. If not, replace valve.
