Brake Light Switch: Service and Repair

1982 Chevrolet Camaro L4-151 2.5LSECTION Service and Repair

EXC. CORVETTE

1. On Camaro, remove hush panel.
2. On all models, disconnect wiring connector at switch.
3. Remove retaining nut, if so equipped, and unscrew switch from bracket.
4. To install: Depress brake pedal and push new switch into clip until shoulder bottoms out.
5. Plug connector onto switch and check operation. Electrical contact should be made when pedal is depressed 3/8 to 5/8 from fully released position.
