The unit indicates an ERR message in the display when any the following conditions occur:
^ The focusing mechanism is impaired by moisture
^ Tracking or servo problems occur
^ A disc is inserted upside down
The unit switches to the radio mode and ejects the CD. The ERR message remains lit in the display for 5 seconds. If a CD is inserted upside down, the CD player is not able to initialize, and the unit will not shift into the audio modes. ERR is lit in the display and the disc ejects. The ERR message turns off after 5 seconds or if the operator reinserts the disc correctly.
The ERR graphic is not lit unless the following conditions are true:
^ The CD player is active
^ The CD player is in the play mode Additionally, the ERR graphic is not lit under the following conditions:
^ The ambient temperature exceeds a preset temperature
^ The CD operation is not functional
^ The CD operation may cause damage to the laser The disc ejects and ERR lights in the display. The ERR message is maintained in the display until the temperature changes to a safe operating temperature. While ERR is displayed, the unit does not accept a disc.
