REMOVAL PROCEDURE
IMPORTANT:
^ Do not remove the spark plugs when the engine is warm.
^ Clean dirt and debris from the spark plug recess area.
^ Use care when removing the spark plug boots from the spark plugs. Twist the boot 1/2 turn before removing the boot. Pull on the boot ONLY in order to remove the wire. DO NOT pull on the wire. This will damage the spark plug wire.
1. Verify that the ignition system is off.
2. Remove the injector sight shield. Refer to Engine Cover Replacement Service and Repair.
3. Remove spark plug wires from the ignition coils.
INSTALLATION PROCEDURE
1. Position the spark plug wires on top of the engine
2. Install the spark plug wires into the intake manifold cover channels.
3. Connect the spark plug wires to the spark plugs. Ensure that the boots are fully seated.
4. Connect the spark plug wires to the ignition coils.
5. Install the intake manifold cover.
