The PASS-Key(R) II theft deterrent module contains the software to monitor the inputs and control the outputs for the PASS-Key(R) II system. The PASS-Key(R) II theft deterrent module inputs are battery voltage (CKT 1642, RED), ignition voltage (CKT 139, PNK), ground (CKT 251, BLK/WHT), key resistor (CKT 1073, WHT/BLK) and key resistor ground (CKT 1074, PPL/WHT). The PASS-Key(R) II theft deterrent module outputs are starter enable relay (CKT 625, YEL/BLK), fuel enable (CKT 229, DK BLU), and the SECURITY indicator (CKT 264, DK GRN).
^ Battery Voltage (CKT 1642, RED) input, when the ignition is OFF, the battery input to the module draws about 1 milliamp.
^ Ignition Voltage (CKT 139, PNK) input, is used to wake the module up. When the ignition switch is turned to the ON position, the module continuously measures the ignition key resistor (see above). When the ignition switch is OFF the module does not measure the ignition key resistor
^ Key Resistor (CKT 1073, WHT/BLK) and Key Resistor Ground (CKT 1074, PPL/WHT inputs, are used to determine if the correct key is being used to start the vehicle.
^ Starter Enable (CKT 625, YEL/BLK) output, used to control the starter enable relay.
^ Fuel Enable (CKT 229, DK BLU) output, used to command the Powertrain Control Module (PCM) to enable the fuel delivery. When the PASS-Key(R) II module sees the proper ignition key resistance it sends a Pulse Width Modulated (PWM) signal to the PCM. If the PASS-Key(R) II module does not see the proper ignition key resistance, it does not send PWM signal to the PCM.
^ SECURITY Indicator (CKT 264, DK GRN) output, is used to control the indicator located within the instrument cluster.
