CAMSHAFT SENSOR TIMING

The following adjustment does not affect spark timing.
1. Rotate crankshaft until No. 1 cylinder is at TDC, compression stroke.
2. Mark harmonic balancer, then rotate crankshaft to 25° after TDC.
3. Remove spark plug wires from ignition coil.
4. Remove terminal ``B'' of wire sensor 3-way connector on module side with suitable tool.
5. Install suitable jumper wire into 3-way connector ``B'' terminal, then connect other end to removed wire.
6. Connect suitable digital voltmeter between jumper wire and ground, Fig. 29.
7. Turn ignition On, then rotate sensor counterclockwise until sensor switch closes. This is indicated by voltage reading going from a high of 5 to 12 volts to a low of 0 to 2 volts. Low voltage indicates switch closing.
8. Tighten drive assembly securing bolt.
9. Install spark plug wires, then remove jumper wire and repair connection.
