-- Check which hole circle the rims have.

-- Secure three suitable wheel bolt adapters for the wheel bolts on each Calibration Tool - Wheel Center Mountings :VAS 6350/1A  .

-- Insert the measuring paddle at both Calibration Tool - Wheel Center Mounting :VAS 6350/1A  and secure with the locking nut.

-- Place the Calibration Tool - Wheel Center Mountings :VAS 6350/1A  onto the wheel bolts on both rear wheels.

  • The wheel center mounting rotation center must be in the wheel rotation center.

-- Place the Calibration Tool - Wheel Center Mounting :VAS 6350/1A  on the wheels so that any anti-theft wheel bolts are not connected to the wheel center mounting.

-- Adjust the measuring paddle using the locking nuts so that they move freely just above the floor.

  • The measuring paddles must move easily.
  • The measuring paddles must be vertical.

-- Position the calibration tool at distance -a- to the rear wheels.

-- Turn on the Calibration Tool - Linear Laser :VAS 6350/3A  -item 1- on the calibration tool.

-- Align the calibration tool so that the Calibration Tool - Linear Laser :VAS 6350/3A  strikes the center of the emblem on the rear lid.

Distance measurement to rear wheels:

-- Switch on the Calibration Tool - Spacing Laser :VAS 6350/2A  .

  • The Calibration Tool - Spacing Laser :VAS 6350/2A  must lie firmly against the catch bracket.

-- Push the measurement button briefly.

  • The laser switches on.

-- Make sure the "laser beam" for the distance measurement contacts the lower enlarged part of the measuring paddle -1-.

If that is not the case, then correct the measuring paddle height using the clamping screw on the Calibration Tool - Wheel Center Mounting :VAS 6350/1A  .

-- Use one hand to hold the Calibration Tool - Spacing Laser :VAS 6350/2A  firmly in the catch bracket on the calibration tool the laser beam should be seen on the measuring paddle during this.

-- Then press the measurement button for the distance measurement briefly.

-- Note the value.

-- Repeat this measurement on the other side of the calibration tool in the same way for the rear wheel.

  • The distance value must be the same on both sides.

-- If both measured values are not the same, then readjust the calibration tool correspondingly until the distance values are the same on both sides.

-- Make sure the Calibration Tool - Line Laser :VAS 6350/3A  strikes the center above the emblem and that the level indicator remains centered. Adjust if necessary.

Calibration tool -1- distance measurement to workshop floor:

-- Press the corresponding button.

-- Then press the measurement button for the distance measurement briefly.

-- Note the measured distance from the upper edge of the calibration tool to the floor.

Height measurement from center of rearview camera lens to the wheel contact surface:

-- Use commercially available measuring tape to measure the height from the center of the rearview camera lens to the wheel contact surface.

-- Mark the determined height.

The determined distance and height dimensions must now be entered in "millimeters" in the Vehicle Diagnostic Tester.

Calibration Procedure

The following should not occur during the calibration procedure:

  • Vehicle doors must not be opened or closed.

-- Connect the Vehicle Diagnostic Tester.

-- Switch the ignition on.

-- Select and start the Diagnostic  operating mode.

-- Select the Test plan  tab.

-- Select the Select individual test  button and select the following tree structure consecutively:

  • Diagnostic-capable systems
  • 006C - Rearview Camera System Control Module - J772
  • 006C - Rearview Camera System Control Module, functions
  • 006C - Calibrating

-- Start the selected program and follow the instructions on the Vehicle Diagnostic Tester display.

-- Switch off the ignition after successful calibration/adjustment.

-- Disconnect the Vehicle Diagnostic Tester from the diagnostic connection.

-- Disconnect the battery charger. Refer to BATTERY, CHARGING .
