AFFECTED VEHICLES
CONDITION
This Required Vehicle Update (RVU) has been proactively released to improve the quality of certain 2011 model year vehicles.
On Audi A4, A5, A5 Cabriolet, and Q5 vehicles with 0BK transmissions manufactured within a specific period, the transmission control unit (address word 02) software must be updated for improved shift quality.
This RVU is in effect until January 31, 2014. After that date, this RVU will expire and no longer be in effect. Vehicle must meet all of the following criteria:
^ Procedure is valid only for vehicles that show the 37F8 code in the ElsaWeb Campaign/Action Information screen on the day of repair.
^ Vehicle must be within the Limited New Vehicle Warranty.
^ Procedure must be performed within the allotted time frame stated in this Technical Service Bulletin.
^ Procedure must be performed on applicable vehicles in dealer inventory prior to sale.
TECHNICAL BACKGROUND
PRODUCTION SOLUTION
Optimized transmission control unit software for improved shift quality.
1. Follow all instructions in the attached TSB 2011732 00 Software Version Management (SVM), operating instructions.

2. Update the gearbox control module using the SVM action code as listed in the table above if necessary.
Tip: Only the gearbox control module is updated as part of this RVU. Do not perform any updates of other control modules.
