Vehicle Electrical System Control Module (J519)
Removing
- If the control module was replaced, select the "Replace" function for the respective control module in "Guided Fault Finding" or "Guided Functions" using the Vehicle Diagnostic Tester.
- Select the function or path:
- Follow the instructions on the Vehicle Diagnostic Tester display.
- Switch off ignition and remove ignition key.
Danger of unintended engine ignition.
Turn off the ignition and remove the ignition key from the vehicle interior for all work performed on the high voltage vehicle.
- Remove the driver side instrument panel cover.
- Disengage the 3-pin relay/fuse panel by pressing the retaining springs in the direction of the - arrow - and remove the relay/fuse panel - 1 -.
- Remove the electrical wire - 1 -.
- Release the retaining spring - arrow A - and tilt the 4-pin relay/fuse panel - 3 - out of the mount in the direction of - arrow B -.
• Disregard item - 2 - in this example.
- Release the retaining spring in the direction of the - arrow - and remove the vehicle electrical system control module - 1 - downward from the mount.
- Disconnect the electrical connectors - 2, 5, 6, 7, 8 -.
- Disconnect the electrical connectors - 3 - and - 4 -.
- To disconnect the electrical connector, press the catch - 1 -, rotate the retaining bracket in the direction of the - arrow - and remove the connector.
Installing
Install in reverse order of removal, observing the following:
• Tightening specification, refer to => [ 4-Pin Relay/Fuse Panel With Threaded Connection, Tightening Specifications ] Relay Carrier, Fuse Panel In Instrument Panel and A-Pillar Overview.
- Install the driver side instrument panel cover.
- Follow the instructions on the vehicle diagnostic tester display in the case of a new vehicle electrical system control module.
