Headlamp Alignment Control Module: Service and Repair

Automatic Headlamp Vertical Aim and Range, Control Modules (J431)/(J745)
- If the control module was replaced, select the "Replace" function for the respective control module in "Guided Fault Finding" or "Guided Functions" using the Vehicle Diagnostic Tester.
- Select the function or path:
- Follow the instructions on the Vehicle Diagnostic Tester display.
Removing
Danger of unintended engine ignition.
Turn off the ignition and remove the ignition key from the vehicle interior for all work performed on the high voltage vehicle.
- Switch off ignition and remove ignition key.
- Remove glove compartment.
- Release the retaining clip - arrow - and remove the - 1 - from the retaining frame.
- Disconnect the electrical connector - 2 -.
- To disconnect electrical connector, press catch - 1 -, turn retaining bracket in the direction of the - arrow - and remove connector.
Installing
• Tightening specification, refer to => [ Automatic Headlamp Vertical Aim Control Overview ] Automatic Headlamp Vertical Aim Control Overview.
Install in reverse order of removal, observing the following:
- Install glove compartment.
- Follow the prompts on the Vehicle Diagnostic Tester display in the case of a new headlamp range control module.
