Affected Vehicles

Condition
^ The customer may report that the engine does not start. After waiting for several minutes (CAN bus system silence), the engine can be started.
^ The 19 - Data bus on board diagnostic interface J-533 software version is between 095 and 120.
Technical Background
Communication issue on the powertrain CAN bus caused by the wake-up-monitor within J-533 (Gateway).
Production Solution
Modified 19 - Data bus on board diagnostic interface J-533 software (adjusted wake-up-monitor strategy).
Service
1. Check the diagnosis protocol for the following entries:
DTC 4719 in 01 - Engine Electronics.
DTC 12583424 in 15 - Airbag.
DTC 1312 in 19 - Data bus on board diagnostic interface.
Besides these relevant entries, other control units may also have communication entries stored.
SVM Update Instructions
2. Follow all instructions in the attached TSB 2011732 00 Software Version Management (SVM), operating instructions.

3. Check the software version of J-533. Update the software as needed using the SVM action code listed in the table above.
4. Through Vehicle Self Diagnosis, change adaptation channel 7 in J-533 to HEX 030000 to re enable the wake-up-monitor.
