Frequently Asked Questions
- Is there an oil consumption recall on the Elantra?
- Some 2011-2016 Elantras with the Nu 1.8L or 2.0L engine had oil consumption concerns. Hyundai issued technical service bulletins and extended warranties on affected engines. Check with your dealer using your VIN. The Smartstream engines (2021+) do not have this issue. Note: the Theta II recall applies to Sonata and Santa Fe, not the Elantra.
