H. Check/replace Engine Control Module
(ECM) (Passat with automatic transmission only)

- Connect Engine Scan Tool VAG 1551 and check Part No. of installed engine ECM. Also visually check ECM for color code.

Note
Since tester printouts tend to fade, make a photocopy of the printout and attach to repair order hard copy for future reference. Identify removed Engine Control Modules (ECM) with a completely filled out Warranty parts tag and return ECM to your Parts Department for shipment to VWoA Warranty Parts Test Center.
