REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION
1. Disconnect battery ground cable.

NOTE: When the battery has been disconnected or reconnected, some abnormal drive symptoms may occur while the Powertrain Control Module (PCM) relearns its strategy. The vehicle may need to be driven 18 km (10 miles) or more to relearn the strategy.

2. Remove engine appearance cover.
3. Loosen engine control sensor wiring to PCM connector retainer bolt.
4. Remove engine control sensor wiring from PCM.
5. Remove powertrain control module insulator from dash panel.
6. Remove PCM.






7. To install, reverse removal procedure. Tighten insulator retaining bolts to 4.0-5.6 Nm (35-49 lb in). Tighten engine control sensor wiring retainer bolt to 5-7 Nm (44-62 lb in). Tighten engine appearance cover retaining nuts to 9-12 Nm (80-106 lb in).
