Applicability
Introduction
Some customers may experience multiple warning lights illuminated vehicle not shifting from park to drive and other accessories becoming inoperative after the vehicle has cold soaked in sub-freezing (below 14 F [-10 C]) ambient air temperatures. A new relay and wire harness has been made available to improve this condition. Use the following procedure to address this concern.

APPLICABLE WARRANTY
^ This repair is covered under the Lexus Comprehensive Warranty. This warranty is in effect for 48 months or 50,000 miles, whichever occurs first, from the vehicle's in-service date.
^ Warranty application is limited to correction of a problem based upon a customer's specific complaint.

Additional TIS Techstream units may be ordered by calling Approved Dealer Equipment (ADE).
Repair Procedure
CAUTION
Work must not be started less than 90 seconds AFTER the ignition switch is turned to the LOCK position and the negative (-) terminal cable is disconnected from the battery. (The SRS is equipped with a back-up power source. If work is started within 90 seconds from disconnecting the negative (-) terminal cable of the battery, the SRS may deploy).
1. Remove the knee airbag.

2. Remove the IG1 Relay from the Junction Block.
3. Install the new IG1 Relay.


NOTE
For RX use Figure 1, for ES use Figures 2 and 3.
A. Install the new IG1 relay to the end of the sub-harness.
B. Install the other end of the harness to the Junction Block.
C. Route the harness according to the correct figure.
NOTE
Do NOT attach the wire tie to an unprotected wire.
D. Using wire ties secure the harness and the relay.
4. Reinstall the knee airbag.

5. Connect TIS Techstream and clear any stored DTCs.
6. Initialize power systems (windows moonroof etc.). Refer to appropriate service bulletin.
