Powertrain Control Module:






REMOVAL

1. Disconnect battery ground cable.

2. Remove Powertrain Control Module (PCM) electrical connector retainer bolt.

3. Remove electrical connector from PCM.

4. Loosen PCM bracket support screw, located forward of the glove compartment (06010).

5. Remove PCM bracket support (12B522) and PCM.

INSTALLATION

1. To install, reverse removal procedure.

2. Tighten PCM retainer screw to 2.7-3.7 Nm (24-32 in lb).

3. Tighten engine control sensor wiring connector retainer bolt to 3.7 Nm (32 in lb).

NOTE: When the battery has been disconnected and reconnected, some abnormal drive symptoms may occur while the powertrain control module relearns its adaptive strategy. The vehicle may need to be driven 10 miles or more to relearn the adaptive strategy.
