Want to start doing my own basic maintenance β oil changes, brakes, spark plugs. What tools should I buy first without breaking the bank?

The one thing I'd upgrade from Harbor Freight: the torque wrench. Get a Tekton 3/8" drive for β it's accurate out of the box and has a lifetime warranty. Under-torquing or over-torquing drain plugs and lug nuts is how beginners cause expensive problems.
